Meet our debut couple!
Shade Tree Border Collies exists because of the legacy of these two wonderful dogs. Our first border collie was a sweet blue merle pup named Panda. At five months old he was hit by a car in our private driveway on Thanksgiving Day. I was heartbroken and the pain was not getting any better so my sweet mom bought me Jasper to help me heal. Jasper helped feel a void in my heart...and I know Panda speaks to us through him.

My mom found Jasper in the big town of Woodleaf (just right down the road from us). He looked so much like my Panda...except for the brown eyes. I honestly thought he would be my only border collie...until....
Panda's breeder called me a year later and told me they had a pup...Panda's half-sister...that looked just like a panda cub. She was black and white with a split face. They knew how hard I had taken his loss so they wanted to know if I wanted to buy her....we drove the four hours to get her the next day!

We bred Jasper and Alice to continue Panda's line...and the rest is history.
Shade Tree exists because of this wonderful girl. While she is no longer with us due to a freak accident that has left a scar that may never heal....she will always be in our heart. She was the mother of our first litter and the dog that made me fall in love with the quirky/wonderful side of border collies! RIP my sweet girl Alice.
